THE STORY

TEBO SET RACKS was founded in 2015 by set costumer Andrew Tebo. After working on numerous film and television productions, Andrew became increasingly frustrated with the costume racks available for on-location work. Most were built with heavy wooden bases, undersized wheels that struggled over uneven terrain, and offered little to no protection or storage for costumes, tools, and supplies. They simply weren’t designed for the demanding environments that set costumers face every day.

Watching other departments utilize specialized carts and equipment built specifically for their jobs, Andrew realized costume professionals deserved a solution of their own. Determined to create a rack that could withstand the elements while making life easier for costume crews, he designed the industry’s first purpose-built, all-terrain costume rack. That vision became TEBO SET RACKS—a durable, mobile costume system engineered to safely transport garments, organize essential tools, and perform reliably on virtually any production location.

Founded in 1999, J&M Costume Rack Rentals has proudly served the entertainment industry for over 27 years, earning a reputation as one of the most respected providers of industrial pipe racks and collapsible garment racks used for costume storage, organization, and staging throughout studios and production facilities.

In 2023, J&M Costume Rack Rentals owners Jack Wright and Mitch Kenney first reached out to Andrew Tebo to see if he would be interested in eventually becoming the next owner of J&M Costume Rack Rentals, as they were beginning to consider retirement in the coming years. For Andrew, the conversation carried a great deal of personal meaning.

Before working as a set costumer, Andrew worked at Eastern Costume and American Costume, where he pulled and shipped costume rack orders for Jack and Mitch while they were leading costume departments on major feature film productions. Although they had never worked together directly on set, Andrew had long admired both men and the careers they built. Through decades of dedication and professionalism, Jack and Mitch earned the respect of the entertainment industry’s costume community and became two of the most recognized and trusted names in the business.

By 2026, Jack and Mitch were ready to move forward, and Andrew was not only honored by the opportunity but eager to carry on the J&M legacy. Sharing the same commitment to quality, service, and innovation, the decision to carry on the J&M legacy while expanding TEBO SET RACKS was a natural fit.
